Three talks on everyday theology, 6.30 pm Sunday nights from 2 May to 16 May 2010.
"We are not theologians because we are particularly religious; we are theologians because in the face of this world we miss God" (Jürgen Moltmann). What does it mean to think theologically? What does it mean to think about God in today’s world? In these three talks throughout May 2010, Dr Ben Myers shows that thinking about God remains an exciting and challenging endeavour in today’s world. Theology is about missing God, looking for God, waiting on God — more than that, it is about being found by God. Theology begins when our imaginations are grasped and enraptured by God’s reality. When this happens, we begin to see the world with new eyes, to find God in the everyday.
Ben Myers is a lecturer in theology at Charles Sturt University in Sydney. He has published widely on literature, history and theology, and he also has one of the world's most popular religion blogs, Faith and Theology. His passions include good books, good wine, good coffee, and conversations about God.
