September is Social Justice Month

Space for God beginns at 6.30pm with a beverage and general conversation.  We move into the Church space at 7pm for our alternative worship.  Please come and join us and hear some interesting people talk about their work, faith  and what gives them joy in the workplace.

September 5th: This is the beginning in the series of presentations and discussions on Social Justice issues in our community.  We begin with the scriptures and the teachings of a compassionate Jesus.  Tonight we will conclude with the celebration of the Eucharist.

September 12: We have Rev Keith Hamilton Senior Minister at Parramatta Mission coming to talk to us about the ministry of the Mission in the center of Parramatta.  The Mission is a life-line to many who live on the streets, who find themselves in a difficult situation, and those who find themselves facing financial hardship. 

September 19: Judith Burns is an Ordained Anglican Priest from England who migrated here in 2007.  Judith has been involved with the Department of Housing and will be presenting her experiences of living out her faith with people who are in desperate need of shelter.  Social Justice is a subject close to her heart and one which is always on the political landscape no matter which government is in office.

September 26: This is Social Justice Sunday and Rev Garry Derkenne from UnitingCare Burnside.  Garry is also very involved in The Sydney Alliance which is the subject of his talk tonight.  For those who don't know what the Sydney Alliance is come and join us to find out.
